Finally Hanging My Poster!

So I finally got around to hanging one of my favorite posters. I took it to a frame store to have it mounted to Foamcore, but they tried to sell me something more expensive called "Gator-core" - I cannot find anything about it online, but I was told that it is more rigid and longer lasting than standard Foamcore. But it is twice the price!

So to make the Foamcore more rigid I just used some Gorilla Glue and stuck some small pieces of wood on the back. I drilled holes in two of the pieces on the sides and put some framing wire through to hang it.

Ahhh. The kitchen. One's safe haven. We always imagined that our own kitchen would be crazy. Bright Yellow, Candy Red, Silver/Chrome. Maybe it's from all of those years working at Tower Records (Tower's colors were Red and Yellow) or all of those years collecting McDonalds toys. When we finally had the opportunity to make our kitchen...OUR kitchen, we went for it. Here are the results. Now AND before. Just a peek inside the minds of Red Pop Shop.

A brief introduction to us, our shop, our blog ...

We are Bess, Jason and Michael - three Pittsburgh homeowners who share a love of vintage objects, art, design, music, food, amusement parks, red denim and Kraft dinner. Through this site, we hope to post about some of these parts of our lives and more ...

Red Pop Shop is a vintage housewares and handmade site on Etsy that we've owned and operated since early spring 2009. We carry a funky variety of kitsch items, barware, Pyrex and mid-century oddities we love and love to share at modest prices (for those of us who have mortgages and want to save some cash for diner food and new records and beer). We shy away from stuffy antiques and focus on objects that are fun, in good condition and continue to be useful - vintage goodies should be well-loved and well-used.

Our blog is a new project. Outside of our shop and our Facebook page, we hope to share here a bit here about our lives outside of the shop, and the things that inspire us - generally speaking, things that we like ...
